Dear Editor, I read the article with keen interest. In my limited anaesthetic experience as a foundation year doctor, I was impressed by the pain relief lignocaine provided when it was added to propofol by consultants before administration. As I plan to take anaesthetics as my career, I would probably continue using lignocaine for this purpose.
