Re: Presentation of data

I enjoyed reading this interesting and useful study concerning the use of remifentanil in children. However, I was not sure about what was represented in the figures. It is stated in the text that the "values are expressed as median and range". The figures appear to represent box and whisker plots with a central horizontal line for median, the extremes of the box as interquartile range and lines extending out for range. However, it is further stated in the text that in fact the open circles represent the range of the data. I would be grateful to be told what the images in these figures represent.
