I wonder why H.Yamanaka's study to identify factors that increase duration of hoarseness following intubation did not include hyperpressured-endotracheal-tube-cuffs which are indeed causative agents for tracheal morbidity.

Such cuffs have a propensity to cause surface alterations with sequel to hoarsness and in severe instances of ischeamia, necrosis and even tracheo-broncheal fistula.
