Re: Lumbar plexus block using ultrasound guidance: A win-win situation in pediatrics!

We would like to commend the authors on their article on lumbar plexus blocks using ultrasonography in adults. Although potentially cumbersome in adults due to body mass index, this is an easy block in children using ultrasound guidance. We feel that more work needs to be done in the area of catheter placement in children using ultrasound guidance for large proceduers including femoral osteotomies since this could potentially benefit these childern postoperatively without the need for additional analgesia. The sono-anatomy remains the same in children with potential better acoustic windows.
