OSBORNE REYNOLDS, 1842-1912, AND THE FLOW OF FLUIDS THROUGH TUBES

D. ZUCK, M.B., CH.B., F.F.A.R.C.S., D.A.

Chase Farm Hospital Enfield, Middlesex, England

A lecture which began with a discussion of the thermodynamics of a steam engine, might easily end up with an investigation of the energy transmitted by a hammer, having in the meantime touched lightly on the dilatency of sand... Struck by a new idea in the middle of a lecture, he would begin to work at this on the blackboard, quite oblivious of his audience.
