THE CLASSIFICATION OF INTERMITTENT POSITIVE PRESSURE VENTILATORS

Minute volume, tidal volume and inspiratory flow are used as the basis for classification; for each characteristic, ventilators are divided into two groups—those that are "stable" and those that are "flexible".
