INTRAVENOUS DIAZEPAM AND PETHIDINE-PROMETHAZINE ANALGESIA FOR MINOR GYNAECOLOGICAL OPERATIONS

Diazepam 10 mg followed 5 minutes later by pethidine 100 mg and promethazine 50 mg was injected intravenously in 1,200 women requiring minor gynaecological operations. Excellent operating conditions were provided in 94 per cent of patients; 92 per cent of patients described the effectiveness as "excellent". No adverse reactions or complications were recorded.
