CARDIOVASCULAR COLLAPSE AFTER RAPID VENTRICULAR DECOMPRESSION IN HYDROCEPHALUS

A Case Report

Cardiovascular collapse occurred in a six-month-old male child with hydrocephalus when rapid ventricular decompression was carried out during a ventriculo-pleural shunt operation. Rapid injection of 40 ml of saline restored the heart beat and spontaneous respiration.
